By drawing from neuroscience, biology, and computation science, seven artists translate a series of divergent fields into visual form, thereby actively opening a dialogue between the artist and the viewer. (Dis)CONNECT, a Nuit Blanche (re)MIX exhibition, features the works of interdisciplinary-based artists who aim to bridge the divide between contemporary art and the public. Though seemingly antithetical in their relationship, the artists use science and technology in their respective mediums to come together in pursuit of creating and strengthening connections with the public. By giving ephemeral experience material form, information is re-imagined, re-interpreted, and re-envisioned through the artistic lens, creating an interactive space for creativity and dialogue.

Inspirés des neurosciences, de la biologie et des sciences informatiques, sept artistes interprètent ces domaines divergents sous une forme visuelle, ouvrant ainsi le dialogue entre l’artiste et le spectateur. (Dis)CONNECT, une exposition (re)MIX de Nuit Blanche, présente le travail des artistes interdisciplinaires qui visent à bâtir un pont sur les divisions entre l’art contemporain et le public. Bien que leurs relations soient en apparence antinomiques, ces artistes emploient tous la science et les technologies dans leurs médiums respectifs, dans le but de créer et renforcer les connexions avec le public. En matérialisant l’expérience éphémère, l’information est ré-inventée, ré-interprétée et ré-imaginée à travers l’œil de l’artiste, générant ainsi un espace interactif qui favorise la créativité et le dialogue.
